Cole Palmer joined Chelsea from Manchester City last season for around £42.5 million and immediately became one of the Blues’ most impressive players.
However, former Chelsea player Emmanuel Petit has now gone against the grain, saying that although Palmer is an excellent player, he is not yet considered world class by the media.
“I don’t think the media hype will dampen his form. Palmer had a very good season last season but started off quite poorly this ยูฟ่าเบท season before picking up in September.”
“The press talks about the young players these days and Palmer is a good player but he’s not the world class player he should be,” he said.
“I think he has potential, both in terms of personality and maturity, but to be honest he hasn’t done anything yet so I don’t think he’s world class yet.”
Cole Palmer has scored six goals and provided five assists in the Premier League this season and has been a regular in Chelsea’s starting line-up since last year. However, Palmer may need to step up his game a bit if he is to help Chelsea finish in the top four.
